Our counselors are highly competent, skilled, and trained in providing evidence-based treatment that will advance and support the youth’s ability to overcome disruptive and maladaptive behaviors, substance abuse problems and improve their moods, thinking and behaviors. To promote a healthy recovery, our facility RN provides ongoing nursing assessments of each resident, schedules medical health and wellness exams, dental and vision check-ups, and medication reviews with the facility psychiatrist. Services provided to resident families:

We at Generations Group Home believe that a resident’s core family is crucial to their recovery efforts while in treatment. Family affects who they are and who they become, for better and for worse. They learn their vocabulary, their habits, their customs and rituals, and how to view and observe the world around them. We believe in helping families learn better communication and coping skills, so they can support themselves and the resident in times of crisis. Using a Family Systems Therapy treatment approach, our counselors believe that any problem a resident may be experiencing can be addressed and helped by involving the entire family. Thus, our family counseling therapy teaches families how to adjust their behavior and thinking to better support one another. We further support and promote therapeutic healing for the family and resident by conducting monthly Child and Family Team Staffing where resident treatment progress is discussed. The discussion also focuses on the needs and expectations of the resident and family. These resources are available for family and resident, medication regimes, physical health, educational needs, and discharge plans.
